We're proud to announce that our Social Media Account Director, Marin Daley-Hawkins, will be speaking at Marketing Week Live this year, which is taking place on 6-7th March in London. Marketing Week Live celebrates the latest innovations and thought leadership in marketing right now, and is one of the biggest events of its kind in the marketing calendar. The two-day event offers a mixture of practical, hands-on expert advice from some of the most respected specialists in the industry, spanning customer experience, social, effectiveness, media, branding, consumer behaviour, content marketing, and strategy, to name a few.

Why your social media strategy still isn’t working

Marin will take to the Marketing Transformation Stage to discuss the key pitfalls of many marketers’ social media strategies. In particular, her session will focus on today’s reality, wherein more brands are investing in social media than ever, yet still aren’t getting it right. More often than not, this all comes down to a few key reasons; Marin will uncover why social campaigns tend to fail, and how poor social strategy can lead to a misalignment between brands and audiences. Finally, she’ll underline the value of marrying data and creativity to create an audience-first strategy, which will result in campaigns being more relevant and engaging for core audiences. At the crux of Marin’s topic is a call for marketers to focus on getting the basics right, which means spending enough time during the strategy conception phase to consider key audience data, and using those insights to really do something different that will resonate with people. Only once those foundations are solid and strategies are data-driven will brands reap the benefits of social media.
